music at St. Luke's
The music program at St. Luke's Church encompasses the many great singing traditions of the Anglican Church, from the simplistic elegance of the Plainsong Psalter to the sublime complexity of the polyphonic Choral Mass.

The anthems are well-integrated thematically within the Eucharist and are sung by St. Luke's professional Quartet. The Quartet is comprised of Carol Curtis McMullen, Alto, Lauren Cuccia, Soprano, Larry Hickernell, Jr., Tenor, and Francis Carroll McMullen, Baritone. The Quartet along with Elizabeth Rish, Organist, dedicate themselves to the discipline of historically informed performance practice of polyphonic music.

Recently, St. Luke's established a voluntary choir. This volunteers and quartet rehearses before the 10:30 a.m. Sung Eucharist once or twice a month. The next volunteer choir dates are September 7 and 21. All interested parties are encouraged to share your voice in song. Rehearsal will begin at 9:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary for the 10:30 a.m. Sung Eucharist. Please come, and bring a friend! Please direct any questions or concerns to Larry Hickernell, Jr. at (570) 498-4350 or through email at SlamMastaL85@netscape.net.

As St. Luke's congregation continues to grow, we hope to further develop our Music Ministry, whereas the choir will become a permanent fixture, along with the eventual return of a children's choir.
